Disappointed in NAMM

So, NAMM hasn't yielded much in the way of new amplification. Highlights seem to be Aguilar limited edition white amps( big deal), and maybe a bit more significant, GK led sleds. But, you'll have to haul 25 lbs in order to get 400watts @4 ohms. I don't know. I was hoping for more. Maybe there's a surprise or two lurking post NAMM from some companies. Still waiting for more combo amp entries now that weigh issues have been conquered.
P. S. There is a new amp from Seymour Duncan. Good to see a new contender.

I think there will be some post NAMM releases that will prove to be more interesting, from companies that didn’t exhibit. I am aware of at least two.

Genzler is announcing something on Feb 5th. I know nothing more than that (they posted on Instagram).

Edit: just remembered the background of the post shows what appears to be a 2x12 bass array cabinet. They cut the head out of the photo so maybe some news there too.

I agree.. It was a buzz kill …

All things bass are beautiful..and there were some great NAMM pictures posted here..
but I thought there would be bass gear released that would blow up the bass internet…

I agree, but there is another angle: The consumer and retailer can see all his options for the forthcoming year and make a decision.... Me: spread out thru the year always has a little piece of me wondering if I will be making a long term commitment purchase only to not know something new is coming out in a couple of months that I wish I bought (Happened to me with a Ducati once).

Double for the retailer, I really don't know this NAMM well, but SHOT show is similar, but goal is to show the retailers what is available and they can place their orders for the year.

Even if they have an innovation, many small builders simply can't justify the expenses involved in having a booth at NAMM. Pay for transportation, hotel, the cost of the booth and the fact that while they're at NAMM they aren't building product.

NAMM is like going to Disney World or Las Vegas or New Orleans: Everyone needs to go at least once.

After that? The Summer Show has been here in Nashville several times over the last few years. They have a 'Civilian Day' on Sunday where you just pay admission and go see, and I've never got all hot and bothered to go.

That's smart, as long as they don't increase the prices without increasing quality as a "Fender tax". IMO the Indonesian factory has been outperforming the Mexico one for quite a while in terms of value.

I certainly haven't played one but the Indonesian instruments I have played have been pretty darn good! But the BLACK Fender logo SCREAMS budget.
For similar money I'd be picking up a Yamaha BB434.
