Honestly, I would expect this to be the new normal. The MI industry is mature and highly consolidated: Korg, Yamaha, FMIC, Gibson are going to want to limit the competition between their own brands, for example. Companies, naturally, need to extend the life cycle as long as they can.
Until there’s another technological disruption (like class D brought, maybe something like NuTube would bring another wave), I think this is just how it’s going to be. Which isn’t bad, honestly! We’ve got a lot of great choices at all price points, so it’s hard to complain. I totally understand the disappointment, but we’re going to have to suck it up, buttercups
