Distorting Stingray

Hi all, hope I've posted on the correct place, I have a MM Stingray 4 that has developed an annoying distortion through my amp (Ampeg SVT III Pro) Its like the battery is on the way out, but I have replaced it! I know its the bass, because I've tried other basses through different leads and they are fine. Its like there is a loose connection somewhere. Its not a loud distortion, but it certainly shouldn't be there and is spoiling my sound.
Hope someone can help. Thanks.

Grounding? And I have a coiled cable (Link Removed) that makes a light distortion.
