The Pigtronix Disnortion may be the ticket for you. The first shipment is enroute and will be available soon.

PS - For the purposes of disclosure as per the forum's commercial policy, I co-designed the Pigtronix Envelope Phaser but aside from working on some initial prototypes and a few hours consulting on the Disnortion's graphics have nothing to do with it and get no recompense.

Wow! I cant express what a drastic improvement the English Muff'in is over the old school, Little Big Muff Pi I tried is. With the gain cranked, it provides about the highest level of distortion that I can see myself needing.

I just wish there was a DI on it, but, that would be picking nits... since my amp has a DI out on it anyway.

So far, I REALLY like it.

I love the way the Muff'n sounds in the demos and samples I've found, but I have yet to justify buying it and making room for it on my board.

My reissue Little Big Muff satisfies my needs perfectly, especially when combined with my BDDI. Different kind of distortion, of course, but still warm and bassy.

Post some Muff'n samples when you get a chance - maybe someone can convince me to buy it :D

Yea, I've still gotta figure out how to do that, inexpensively...

There's no way in hell, I'm gonna buy a $300 add on box, for my PC.... I AM seriously thinking about trying out a Lightsnake tho... I'm thinking I could just run the output of my preamp into the USB port.

The Muff'n is incredible, I use one religiously now. I was not happy at all with the Big Muff. Nifty thing about the Muff'n is you can use it just like a tube pre-amp, so if your DI is pre-preamp on your head, this still gives you some tone control. It is big, but most EH pedals are. I like 'em cause they have a home-built-with-cool-graphics mojo going on. If you want a tube DI, check out Ampeg's...

I have some of the songs on my bands Myspace (link at the bottom) page recorded with the Muff'n if you want sound clips. The songs Buried Above Ground (entire song) and Brightside (specifically the bridge, best example). I use just a tad of overdrive to fatten things up a bit since the band is a 3-piece.

I'll be honest... I'm not very fond of emo and its close cousins...

...but your band actually sounds great! My girlfriend would love to hear some of this stuff, too. Time to add you to my MySpace list...

Getting back to the Muff'n... I like the tone! It's another good example of what it can do.

...but I gotta upgrade my amp setup first, so... the Muff'n will have to wait :bawl:
