this is the pedal that IMO is the one to get, and at the right price point.

If it's good enough for Tony, it's good enough for me ....

you can use something like a Boss LS-2 to blend in some of the low end back.
That way, you can use whatever dirt pedal you'd like. It's what i do with my Vintage RAT.
Aguilar Agro does it for me wonderfully. With the right setting (for me, it’s the Contour and Presence knobs at around 9), the low end stays rather than thickens (which is exactly what I want).
I think the Agro can be tricky to dial in. I found it easy to dial in sounds where the low end felt weak or altered. I think keeping the Presence set low is part of the formula to keep the low end. The controls seemed pretty interactive in that regard. For example, the higher the gain setting, the lower the Presence needed to be. I ended up selling mine. I think it is a pedal I'd avoid in a quest for distortion with low end. IMHO YMMV. Obviously, that's not the case for you![]()
@PGold I have the exact same pedals.
From a ‘Keeping the Low end intact’ perspective, do you agree that the Dark Glass does a better job?
After that it goes into the looper. I may eventually go tc with that too.
I agree that the Alpha Omega does a better job overall.
I agree. My Stadium can give me everything I need in terms of drive. I just wish the “dirt” button was foot switchable so I could switch between that sweet growly breakup to full on distortion mid song. Because it’s not footswitchable I run an EQD Monarch in front. The Stadium takes drive pedals really well and can add bottom end back into them thanks to the 150hz boost.I would try out the LR Baggs stadium. For me, it has one of the most integral mix of drive, gain and "growl" which really nails any distortion needs that I may have, without compromising the nature and quality of my bass.
