Distortion Pedals with low end?

you can use something like a Boss LS-2 to blend in some of the low end back.
That way, you can use whatever dirt pedal you'd like. It's what i do with my Vintage RAT.

I have to agree. I use the LS-2 for that reasons and it works beautifully. Not to mention the extra flexibility it can provide for tonal adjustments.

Guys,

I have stumbled across a company in Germany making from what I can see are real quality pedals.

The you tube clip is of a pedal they did called Mattrix, which they have now discontinued, but has been improved to the one they call Parvati.
It’s got a switch to choose either silicone,Germanium or no clipping.

I think the voicing sounds tight and focussed with the low end really hanging through. First drive pedal I have been excited for for a while.

Also 14 day no quibble return for a full refund, 5 year warranty.
In addition when I contacted them on their Facebook page I got an answer within 20 mins and it was 10pm.
They seem genuine guys.

I pulled the trigger and it’s coming soon

I’ll let you guys know what the deal is!

Also talking about blending pedals you should check this new one out

(The drive pedal at 1.36 mins used for demo is the one i am getting)

Made by this guy in Germany and here is the info page on the pedal, you be able to access the other stuff there.

It’s transparent and basically 2 FX loops one HPF and one LPF so you can merge your drive with a modulator and have all the low end in the world, I suppose it’s a LS-2 on steroids with a bit more flexibility.

I was really impressed, again great quick answers and the no Quibble 14 day return and 5 year warranty.
I pulled the trigger again, I have 2 pedals I would love to combine!

Aguilar Agro does it for me wonderfully. With the right setting (for me, it’s the Contour and Presence knobs at around 9), the low end stays rather than thickens (which is exactly what I want).

I think the Agro can be tricky to dial in. I found it easy to dial in sounds where the low end felt weak or altered. I think keeping the Presence set low is part of the formula to keep the low end. The controls seemed pretty interactive in that regard. For example, the higher the gain setting, the lower the Presence needed to be. I ended up selling mine. I think it is a pedal I'd avoid in a quest for distortion with low end. IMHO YMMV. Obviously, that's not the case for you :)

I think that the Agro can be tricky and finicky when trying to find that sweet spot. I’ve also noticed that it reacts very differently to the bass/amp you’re using. That being said, keeping the Presence/Contour low as you said really help with keeping the lows. Also, the Level should be well above unity gain. Sounds huge with my Fender/SVT setup!

You can’t go wrong with some of the others mentioned if the Aggie doesn’t suit ya though. An LS-2 with distortion of choice or Blower Box, Pickle Pie B are beasts with the lows

After that it goes into the looper. I may eventually go tc with that too.

I agree that the Alpha Omega does a better job overall.

If you like the sound (which I think it's awesome), mostly any Darkglass distortion keeps the low end. The price is different

Talking about Fuzz, the Aguilar Fuzzistor is amazing. It really keeps the low end even at extreme and crazy settings. Awesome unit.

I don't have anything in between the Fuzz and the Overdrive, but I also love my Ashdown Bass Drive (not the Drive Plus). It has a Balance control which kind of selects frequencies on which the effect applies. The thing is that, at 12 o'clock is flat. When you turn it clockwise, more highs jump in. If you turn it counter-clockwise, you can hear more lows. I set it at 11 o'clock and the bottom end is definitely there

I would try out the LR Baggs stadium. For me, it has one of the most integral mix of drive, gain and "growl" which really nails any distortion needs that I may have, without compromising the nature and quality of my bass.
I agree. My Stadium can give me everything I need in terms of drive. I just wish the “dirt” button was foot switchable so I could switch between that sweet growly breakup to full on distortion mid song. Because it’s not footswitchable I run an EQD Monarch in front. The Stadium takes drive pedals really well and can add bottom end back into them thanks to the 150hz boost.
