I f you are the only one in the band who can make leads up, just make sure your not the one burning your fingers on a gas soldering iron backstage trying to fix the mic leads or multicore, whilst the rest of the band are at the bar, chatting up the ladies...
not that I'm bitter or anything...
my advice; make your own leads but play dumb with the band. make em fix/buy there own....
I used to get my band to keep feeding me beer whilst I fixed the lesds/pa/lights etc, but that's when the burns started..... burnt fingertips before a gig is not good...
