Double Bass DIY hybrid strings

Hi,
Here is the case. I currently have a Krivo pickup on my double bass, and rocking weed whackers with steel core. I use a magnetic pickup because I'm the bassist, singer, and sound engineer in my band. Thinking about feedback while doing all this is too much for a noob like me.

The thing is that the strings i used earlier was a set of GutALikes, which were perfect for me, but the problem is that these strings ar synthetic, and i need a metal content because of the magnetic pickup. Do you think it would be possible to use these strings and for example have a ring of copper tape (or maybe wind it with thin copper wire)?

Copper is non-magnetic, won’t work.
Metal is heavy, will rise string tension if wound over the whole length.
If you only wind it at the pickup the harmonics get false and positions on the fingerboard change.

So not a good idea.

Get a k&k rockabilly setup. Mine works great, no feedback issues, and will work fine with ww's.

Then switch to real guts! Lol. I had ww's for a sec. Real guts will set you freeeeeee!
