DIY tube distortion pedal

Ok well I have 2 more pcbs left that were part of the initial minimum run I had made. If I build them up I would be open to lending them out for evaluation to a couple different guys that are familiar with distortion pedals. I have never owned one before besides the two I have made so I don't necessarily know how good it is compared to others out there. I just tweaked it until the controls worked how I wanted and until I liked the way it sounds. It will probably take me several weeks to get the parts in and assemble them when I can find the time. First two to PM me get a loaner evaluation pedal!

Finally got the two other prototypes complete and they go out to Talkbass members for review today!

What is it about this pedal that's different from others on the market? If you were worried about people getting a hold of your design, you probably should not have posted hi res images of the PCB that has component values printed right on it....

High voltage tube overdrive is not too common, especially with an active eq and sweepable mid. I don't know of any. There is no way one could copy my design from looking at the pictures I posted. The circuit board has traces and components on both sides. I would gladly give out a bill of materials even, with every component value listed. Good luck figuring out how they all connect together without a schematic!

I'm waiting to see what people who use them think first. I have never owned a distortion pedal so I'm not sure how this stacks up against others. If this goes well I'll probably start out with a run of 10 and see how that does. I would have to revise some things and get graphics for it before that happens though.

Was just asking because I've built many a preamp, pedal, and tube amp for myself over the years. Any time I think I came up with something new, I didn't. There was always some weird one off fuzz pedal or other noisebox maker from the 70's that already did it. There is a bunch of high voltage tube pedals out there, that's why I asked.

I know I'm not doing anything groundbreaking new. The whole point of this exercise was to design and build my own pedal to sound and function the way I want to get a tone that I am looking for without having to buy, sell, and trade a bunch of different pedals. We all know how many distortion/overdrive pedals there are out there which can make choosing one a little overwhelming. I achieved my goal and if others like the same sound and function I came up with then I think that's pretty cool.
