Do elixirs cause neck bows?

I am thinking of putting Elixirs on my Warwick Pro series corvette 6 string , bubinga body with ovankol laminate neck.

I was told that elixirs due to their higher tension can cause bow in the neck. Is this some urban legend? Doe it make that much of a difference?

Elixirs appear to have standard tension for the gauges they offer.

I would disassociate with whoever passed you this nugget of enlightenment

Nope. Not if the neck is any good whatsoever (and properly setup of course).

I've played Elixers. Not high tension at all.

Thanks for the reply, I really like the feel of the nano web version on my Ibanez 6 string. I'll put them on the Warwick.
