Do good cheap tort pickguards exist?

I bought a couple of used tort guards from the classifieds. They were both made by WD and I buffed them both to a satin finish with 0000 steel wool. I personally cannot stand the sheen of a brand new tort guard. It just looks 10000x cheaper than any other color with the gloss visible.

The best non-vintage tortoise pickguard I’ve had came I believe from an early 80s squire. It had a “pixelized” quality to it. Not as red as the mid 60s stuff, but 200% better than modern.
