Do I need a P bass?

lol i saw that bass...have fun with that and do report back on it's tonal qualities!

Yeah, I'm excited to hear it too.

Only bad part is that I've only played one other P bass....and it was an old Ibanez P/J....and the pickups were so hot....I doubt it was a good representation of classic P tone.

He say it sounds like a vintage P.

I'm just happy it's the 1.75 neck width.

So, I kind of was in the boat of wanting a P just to have that tone as well. Granted, what I SHOULD do is put flats on it if I got one, but I'd rather have that rock grindy P tone with steels.

That said I got the Squier Protone V, and it kind of has that low mid grind to it. Anyone familiar with both? Worlds apart?

I got the jazz thing covered, and I have an upright for that warm classic thing. But the low mid grind was something I was missing.
