Do I need a power amp for this mixer?

I've been looking at this Peavey mixing board. It doesn't specificy that it's powered, so I'm wondering if I need a power amp for it?

Here's the mixer:

It says it's power requirements are:

PV 14: 100-240 VAC 50/60 Hz 17 Watts

Unless I missed it in the items description, yes you will need a separate power amp .

Alright I figured as much, I just have no idea what kind of power amp is needed for this application.

I use Crown power amps for my PA stuff but that's just me. What are you looking to drive with it?

If you're not comfortable with a mixer with a separate power amp you may want to with a mixer with an on board power amp.

Using an unpowered mixer gives me more inputs for less money.

I'm not planning on hooking this up to speakers, I'm going to hook it up to an audio interface and then play/record with my computer.

Edit: In retrospect I should have posted this in recording gear, since this isn't being used for live sound. Sorry about the confusion, when I think of mixing boards my mind thinks of live sound lol

So since I don't have any speakers I need to power does that mean I don't need an amp for the board?

Nope. The amp is just for powering speakers. ( And by "Nope" I mean you don't need an amp)

You are correct. If all you need is a line-level output to supply signal to the input of another recording device (e.g., your computer), the mixer supplies a line-level output without needing any further amplification.

If you want to record you don't need a mixer, you need a USB, or Firewire interface.

I would want a mixer if I want to record more than 1 or 2 inputs.

recording interfaces can have 2,4 or 8 ins

Right, but that's $400. The mixer I want is cheaper than that.

Plus, I could really use 10 mic inputs so that we can have a decent number of drum mics.
