Do I need an AB-Y ?

Quick Question: Does anyone know if I take my unaffected effect loop send from my Eden WT-600, can I feed that into the instrument input on my GK-700RB-II? What I want to do is capture each amp's DI output on separate channels (recording via a Presonus studio live board). Would I be better off using an AB-Y box to split my passive J-bass signal up front (or maybe using a Sansamp disengaged)? Thanks!
