Do I Suck?

ok, so I've made a couple of covers on youtube and have recieved some mixed feedback on them. My latest one I thought I did really well on, some dufus posted "piss poor". i know i shouldn't let these people get to my head, but I need someone's real opinion. Do I suck? Here's the link to my latest video where you can read this dufus's comment.
ok well now theres another comment about my "bass" and my pick-playing. God I need help!oh yeah, heres the link:

I didn't see your video and maybe you do suck and maybe you don't, but I don't think that's the point. Who cares? Do you have fun? We all suck to varying degrees and we're all great. There's always someone who makes you feel like you suck in comparison, but there will always be people to whom your music will bring joy and those are the people who really matter. To be honest, I always remember the insults more than the praise and they're often more fun!

Do what you want and the hell with everyone else, everytime I try to tailor my musical path to make me look better or so that people will think I'm cool, I lose. Before I went to Berklee, I abandoned my Gibson EB2D, which I played with a pick, thinking I'd be laughed out of there. Well, after 7 semesters, I find out that the guy who put the bass department there played a Gibson EB2D with a pick (Steve Swallow). If I had followed my original path, I would have had probably come up with something pretty original. So, stick to your vision and have fun!

Well I WAS going to say you were good, till I saw your comment on Youtube dissing on my Ibanez SR 500 series bass....

lol jk, its a cool bassline and you played it fine. Honestly though, Youtube is the LAST place I would look for "constructive criticism", but the last thing you need to be worrying about now is what everyone thinks of your playing....just focus on playing. At the age of 13, you have plenty of others things to worry about besides a bunch of internet prowling jerks on youtube think of your chops.

There are people far better than me, that goes without saying, but many people in bands signed to major labels or guys who have played for many years have commented saying I'm a "good bassist". I've played for about 5 years now and have never gleaned anything worthwhile from posting videos of my playing on the internet...unless it was original material. It really is a waste of time and you're going to give yourself ulcers, dude lol. Play often, play hard, and let your playing speak for your talent in person...don't bother trying to impress idiots who can't play and diss on players such as Marcus Miller, Geddy Lee, etc.

Oh, and no problems playing with a pick...but make sure you have fingerstyle down too. As bassists, our bread and butter is how versatile and improvisational we can be. That's just friendly advice though, because I've had many doors open up because I've exposed myself to both techniques and worked at being proficient in them.

who said anything about dissing ur ibanez?

ok well wat am i supposed to do with that now?
lol srry i am kind of a dufus to these things

Your signature is already a quote, so I assume you'll have already written "[ QUOTE]Lighten up little brother it's all good, you are among friends.
" in your signature section of the profile page. If you change that to "[ QUOTE=smogg]Lighten up little brother it's all good, you are among friends.
" then you can have smogg quoted and credited rather than just a nameless quote.

Ie:
smogg said:
Lighten up little brother it's all good, you are among friends.
instead of
Lighten up little brother it's all good, you are among friends.

If that's not what you asking before, I apologise :)

(don't include the spaces in the "[ QUOTE]" parts of my text)

heres the thing;about 99% of the people that comment on youtube are dumb as a box of rocks, and they are mostly little kids! and it looks like the majority of the comments on your vid are good,so why let some moron that barely even knows what he's talking about get you down? i wouldnt worry about him.
