Nearly every used one I've seen in person or for sale on Ebay has cracked "feet" along the bottom edge of the case. Here's a classic example of one with that exact damage on Ebay:
Rickenbacker Standard Case, 4000 Series Basses - Black - Damaged Exterior | eBay
Like I said, good enough for flat storage or careful home use, but gigging? Not so much.
It's a low-end case for a high-end bass. Minus the fitted padding, its on par with a cheap Gator or Roadrunner case. Back in the day, they all came with nice tolex cases, now that's a "deluxe" case. $499 for a tolex case? Nope. I've seen them for less, but always $300 +

Well, I will disagree. I own one. Have owned a total of 4. Not "seen" used ones to form an opinion.
They are not a low quality cases.
Much better than the "cheep" gator or roadrunner. I have actually own those as well.
This is from actually owning the cases. From real experience. Not looking at adds.
I have had zero issues using these for more than "flat storage". On the road, real world use. Zero issue's and have total confidence with them. Last year I had no problem sending my Ric to Houston from Cleveland for a gig.
Not sure how one forms an opinion on seeing adds.
