I learned recently by another TBer who got banned that one can accumulate points, which eventually land you in the dog house for 30 days. Doesn't have to be a single horrendous infraction. Could be a bunch of warnings about discussing politics or breaking some other rule.
PMs are usually disabled when people are banned. If you really want to know you can post your email address and request that he emails you. Banned people can usually read posts, but not respond. Knowing KBD he'll be reading lots. So I might as well say... I'll miss you dude! Hope you're back soon!
A great feature of this board is the 'Ignore' function
Click on an Avatar, then click the "ignore"
I virtually ignore people I have not interest in seeing their opinions.
Yes, sure, There are "Some very nice people on both sides", but some of those side discussions don't have much to do about the topic and are spent on the ad hominem.
It sure keeps me from endless content-less escalation of nonsense from piccolo players
Hopefully this also keeps the moderators less busy so they can focus on the enjoyable parts of TB.
Maybe a future feature could be Moderators could permanently set "ignores" list for those who don't set their own![]()
When a poster gets banned, I look at the frequency with which they post. Past a certain frequency, I think, "wow; Mods did THAT GUY a huge favor..."

I really should let this go
I really should let this go but, I have never understood why people think as highly about KbD as they do. He strikes me as being a bit of a sad sack.
Ignore function doesn't work for me. It just makes me all the more curious about what the person I'm ignoring said. Tried it and failed miserably.
I wish they had an ignore feature that completely ignored people, without any notification of ignored content. I'd zap a few people here in a heartbeat. I have absolutely no use for their input. Perhaps I'll suggest that!
KbD was a gadfly, won't miss him.
But looking at the first couple of pages I see lots of contributors now gone: tituscrow; p.aron; Relic; Jim Nazium.
Where have they gone?
