do G&L's comes with strap locks, or do i have to have them installed myself, and what kind have you guys used? i will install them myself, are there any that the screws fit nice and tight? what do you guys recommend?

Do Strap locks come on a G&L L2500 standard?

They do not come installed on G&L basses - I use the Jim Dunlop - either the Traditional or the double duty - either allows you to use a regular strap if you want to (or forget your strap with the matching locks on it!!!) I usually match the locks to the bass color or the hardware - my Gold Flake L2500 has gold ones on it even though the hardware is the chrome (wished they offered gold hardware for the basses....)
I used to use the Schaller, but switched to the Dunlop when I bought my Warwick - the Dunlop have slightly larger screws and feel a bit more secure to me, plus if you want to use a regular strap the Schaller are kinda on the small size and I'd worry about a larger (heavier) bass pulling out of the strap hole.

While they're not standard... I've found the stock strap pegs work very very very well. I never had my strap fail due to the fact that they're just so fat and low profile they really hold the slots in place. Might just be with my levy suede strap, don't know about a nylon or such though.
I use Schaller on my G&L's, because my U.S. Fenders came with them, and I wanted to standardize. They work great, but ric stave is right that the Schaller buttons are small, so a strap won't be very secure if you're NOT using the locks. And Kyon is right that the G&L buttons are huge, and thus provide decent security even without locks. My L-1500's stock buttons are so big that I had trouble getting them through the holes on a thick strap. I just left the strap attached until I bought a set of Schallers for it.
