Do u hate bass and bass players!?

Most ironic to me is the fact that on half the threads on this forum we complain about "This guitard, or that guitard", and yet when someone insults bassists on a guitar forum, it's unacceptable. I think a little brotherly love needs to be extended to guitarists on this forum instead of all the hatred and ridiculous sterotypes... It's not like anyone goes around calling us basstards all the time.

Yeah but I think we avoid sweeping generalizations like that here at TB, I know I do...I would never call either of my current guitar players guitards, they are both very knowledgeable and play very well....But that guy I auditioned for who though it was a good idea not to tune cause "nobody does that anyway, lets just play" he was a guitard.

I think if someone posted what he did on TB about guitarists TB would respond similarly to the way our 6 string friends did.

Well, honestly, most guitards deserve it. At least 75% of the guitarists that I've met are hacks, and are delusional in what they think constitutes good music. At the same time, at least 75% of the basstards that I've met also have their heads up their asses musically. And, this is after I've really made an effort to associate myself with other musicians who "get it."

While I do think I 'get it,' I'm also an old fogey who's ship's already sailed - I learned it too late in life, and am damned to wander the musical streets panhandling for the scraps of an audience... :crying:

Therefore, ergo, ipso facto, almost all "musicians" that I've met are hacks. Certainly not all, and those guys deserve praise. However, the vast majority of us musicians don't "get it," will probably never "get it," and are smoking crack if they think they're going to 'make it big.' The numbers support this theory...

Heres a little message from us ..........

you dont think the OP is actually...no it couldn't be ...could it?????

"...I sort have a reputation around town. I'm just an average guitarist. Nothing special but in a small town people talk all sorts of silly things like when he plays solos the nails in coffins come flying out...he raises the dead with his solos...or some crap like that. ......"

He's so punk, he dropped out of school. And his grammar shows it. Though it looks more like he dropped out of elementary school than it does high school. Also, I used my old UG account (from before I converted to TB) just to tear into him on his profile. Not one comment didn't have to do with that thread. We all get our 15 minutes of fame, or, in his case, infamy.

Yep, that's us... just a bunch of inglourious basstards! ;):D
