Do ya like BIG beers?

try some Double India Pale Ale stuff and you won't get too much sweetness there. I had Nugget Nectar this weekend and at 7.5%, there were very very few sugars in the taste. Pretty much all hops, mostly amarillo I guess.

The big IPA's can get away with the sweetness from extra malt (required to kick up the alcohol level) because they are bombed with hops. The bittering hops directly oppose the sugars so while they have the same amount of sugar as other high alcohol beers, you don't taste it as much.

That's why I hate IPAs! Hehee

I want to taste the malt!! Not the bittering agents so much. I like a beer that is like a rich heavy homemade bread, in fizzy liquid form!

"This is an extremely strong beer; it should be enjoyed in small servings and with an air of aristocratic nonchalance. It is exactly the same manner you would enjoy a fine whisky, a Frank Zappa album or a visit from a friendly yet anxious ghost."

ROFL!

Highest I've ever had was 18% It was a triple that won a spot in the Sam Adams home brew mixed 6 thing....it was good for a change but I wouldn't drink it all the time.

If i'm going to drink something that's near 40% ABV I'll have a glass of this:
