Do you dance when you play bass?

My sense of what a long haired, 6' 1", dancing scarecrow looks like prevents me from doing anything more than "rockstar moves". Lol

If I consume some magic cookies or what is soon to be legal in Canada then I dance and really groove out and the notes I want to play come to me and I just hear it. If I don’t then I’m a lot more in my head and not as free. And yet I never “partake”. Probably not in four years.
Strange....
I wonder how many people have this problem?

We don't have this problem in Texas because its illegal (sarcasm).

Actually, some of us need TWIC cards to work ...with random drug tests (hair) so we need to be abstaining at least 3 months from a lot of things. Im retired, but ive gotten calls from recruiters to work and the first thing they ask is whether i have a current TWIC. So I stay good until I permanently retire . My card expires this year.

At last nights jam session, I had really excellent players and new Rotosounds 66s on my Thunderbird and the spirit of Flea and Billy Sheehan did rest upon me heavily and made me funky and mobile. Afterwards, I dragged my aged sweat drenched body to the bar where several lovely ladies came up and said they loved the way I danced while I played bass.

So, just wondering...do you move around a lot, or stand still like a zombie when you play.
Used to do a lot more; play behind my head, between my legs. At a gig in the past my brother's ladyfriend commented (not knowing we were brothers) about the 'obscene bass player'! Can't dance (feet don't respond right), but I learned moves from go-go dancers in the 70's! I've slowed my roll over the years, but I go crazy from time to time!

I've had people tell me I was dancing--but really all I do is to sometimes bob my head, tap my foot and maybe move a bit more than that--like tap with whole body--or shift my weight.
So just getting into the music and it helps me keep time.

If that's dancing--I guess I am...
