My sense of what a long haired, 6' 1", dancing scarecrow looks like prevents me from doing anything more than "rockstar moves". Lol
I don't think I've ever noticed the audience. LolI've found that when I dance instead of tapping my foot I make better choices rhythmically. OK, so it's not real dancing, but I'm moving my whole body in time with the music...
I've also found that the crowd gets more into it when I start moving. That's always a plus!
Used to do a lot more; play behind my head, between my legs. At a gig in the past my brother's ladyfriend commented (not knowing we were brothers) about the 'obscene bass player'! Can't dance (feet don't respond right), but I learned moves from go-go dancers in the 70's!At last nights jam session, I had really excellent players and new Rotosounds 66s on my Thunderbird and the spirit of Flea and Billy Sheehan did rest upon me heavily and made me funky and mobile. Afterwards, I dragged my aged sweat drenched body to the bar where several lovely ladies came up and said they loved the way I danced while I played bass.
So, just wondering...do you move around a lot, or stand still like a zombie when you play.

Hi,

Occasionally I'll turn to the drummer and ask"Are we getting down?"Looks to me like the band's dragging. I do the "bounce in time, come on guys, quit slowing down" move too. But somehow it never works, they just keep dragging.

Wear a kilt. You will never miss a beat. Aim for the guitarist.I sometimes have bowel movements when I play, does that count?
