Do you ever misspell your name ?

My name took me an inordinantly long time to learn how to spell when I was a small child, my full name that is:

Cian Loughlin O'Day

That said, most people think that I'm misspelling my name and pronounce it as "Cain"... plenty of people think that when I say my name (which I pronounce like "Ian" with a soft "C" in front) that I'm mispronouncing my name... they think that my name is spelled "Sean" and I should pronounce it accordingly like "Shaun" or "Shawn." So there's that.

Then there is that fact that I am, in fact, mispronouncing my name which as anyone from Ireland can—and will—tell you that it should be said like "Ian" with a hard "C" in front... but I tell them that this is America and we call 'em the Boston Celtics (soft "C") not the Celtics (hard "C")...

So, yeah, my name's a nightmare. I usually don't introduce myself to people, I just start talking... let that stuff take care of itself...

Thanks. I like my name, very much, in fact... it's just that it probably contributed to my mumbling problem. Plus, I've literally had arguments with complete strangers over my name. At least, it makes for some interesting experiences, no real complaints, though.
