Do You Like Sneakers?

I don't collect sneakers. I'm an older person, but I try to stay in shape and I wear the sneakers I buy. Then, I throw them out when they are worn out.

I never got into collecting sneakers but I'm aware of the scene. I've had old sneakers that I didn't wear anymore, but kept them in storage. Just from time and age, the adhesive broke down between the sole and the upper. The rubber in the sole also had this aged look like it was going to crumble under duress.

I have been wearing Jordan's exclusively for years, and have never really been disappointed by them except on my last pair of SC-2's when the paint started peeling off the midsole pretty quickly leaving them looking pretty haggard. Other than that though very solid shoes.

I changed things up a bit last time I bought new shoes and got some Emerica Reynolds 3 skate shoes since I got back on a board a bit. I had all but forgotten why Emerica is just about my favorite shoe manufacturer, but these are hard to beat. While anyone who has ever owned a pair of Jordan's knows that the break in period can take awhile, the Emericas fit and felt perfect right out of the box like I'd been wearing them for years. I still might go back and get a pair of Jordan 1's (no paint on the midsole :P) I definitely recommend ANYONE check out Emerica next time they're in the market for some comfortable yet absolutely bulletproof kicks.

As a runner, I spend $120 or so on a new pair of running shoes or I'd be in pain. Other than that this is my sneaker of choice, with about 4 pairs in my closet rotating at any time. Asics Tiger Mex 66 slip on. NOT for running, but oh so comfortable.....and I'm sure to some oh so ugly.

I own four pairs of boots (winter, general use, nice boots, and dress boots) since I feel they're amongst the most practical kinds of footwear. I've been wearing work boots as my everyday since I was in middle school. My boots are usually Redwing since they last a very long time.

I do own some sneakers too but I generally kill them in a few months. I have specific ones for running and cycling. When I kill the sneakers from cycling they become knock around shoes until the next pair is destroyed.

Oh yeah. I own one pair of dress shoes. For work.

Just bought these Altra Olympus shoes, setting a new record for expensive - around $110. They are a zero drop shoe with the heel slightly lower than the toe, a curved sole under the toe that that helps move the step forward, and my orthotics fit. They also have an unusually wide toe box so I didn't have to buy a 2E or 4E size like I usually.

Form and function. They are the kindest thing to you 64-year-old feet that I have worn in some time. The only way I would have refused them would be if they were purple. Cougs don't wear purple. Probably 95% of those who will see this post have never heard of the brand or the shoe, and that's fine with me.

Love my puma's and adidas'
Not really a fan of chucks (use to wear them back in the day) and haven't found a pair of Nikes I like, same with their clothing too. I mean I have a bunch of nike clothing (no shoes) and I just don't think it's good stuff.
Maybe one day
