Do You Like Sneakers?

Hello guys!
Haha I know TB is mainly full of older gents who aren't into stuff like collecting sneakers, but out of curiosity, I just wanted to know if there are any on here?
I mean I don't collect sneakers because they are WAY too expensive and I'd rather save my money up for something useful, but I do love the history and learning about the different kinds of Nike's, Reebok's, Van's, etc..
I'm just the type of person who is able to identify an old pair of Jordans or whatever show, new or old, instead of being that crazed, collecting sneaker head (no offense). I say crazed because I have cousin's back in the East coast who live in the straight up ghetto and are very poor, but literally make sure they buy those new kicks that are like $300, it's just crazy!
Anyways are any of my sneaker head bassist out there, come on y'all! ;D

Well actually I guess it all just depends on the way you grew up, where you grew up, and who you grew up around...

I don't, but some do. I learned about the Nike Fender SB's here on TB, I'd kill for a pair. My buddy collects shoes but the idea of owning 50+ pairs of shoes is mindboggling to me. Sweet Jordans by the way, all they need is some pumps.

It's an easy quick fashion hit to put on a pair that matches our tshirts color, endearing us to those 20 to 30 years younger.

I guess we all, to some degree, choose what offends us in our society as far as companies/company practices go. I personally have a big problem with the idea of paying hundreds of dollars for a shoe that cost $1.50 to make so that some sports star can continue to be paid millions per year in sponsorship dollars. Or something like that.

Older guy here. I think the most I ever spent on a pair of sneakers was $60 or $70 and then felt like I overpaid. With that said, I wear sneakers almost everyday and will wear them until they are so worn that they will embarrass my wife. To each their own.

Not really sneakers but I wear New Balance 840's once in a while but generally I favor Red Wings.

I'm mostly a boot guy, but a good pair of sneakers is always a good thing. I remember when the first Jordans came out and all the fervor it caused.

I like a good sneaker, but it's one type of footwear that I just don't see the point in paying a lot for. Athletic shoes aren't built with longevity in mind. A pair of Allen Edmonds isn't cheap, but those are shoes that could last years and years and would be worth re-soling. A pair of Vans or Reboks? Not so much.

I can't stand 'athletic shoes' but I do have several pairs of Chucks. More of a boot (NOT the cowboy variety) guy.
