I’m a big fan of macaroni. Does that count for anything?
I’ve never played (or danced to) the Macarena but I can’t say it couldn’t ever happen. Unlikely but not impossible.

I don’t like country but play a tune and see 50 people jump up and line dance, it’s pretty amazing. Now 50 people doing the Macarena? Please don’t tempt me like this.

I lived in a Latino neighborhood when that song came out, maybe a year before it became huge in all markets. I am a lifelong punk/metal dude, but even I could tell that it was a banger. It was playing out of every house, store, car. I like it.

While that song may be a bit dated, all I know is if you’re playing a contemporary gig for a substantially Latino audience, you better have La Chona together…
