I turn 50 this year, there's a good chance that my wife will get me a surprise Sadowsky or tell me to take a pilgrimage to the mecca in NYC.

Heck, the metros aren’t even that much more than whatever they are currently calling fender’s active MIA bassesI don't know why people get upset over Sadowsky basses. They're extremely well thought out instruments put together with a ton of experience and skill. The $5k price tag may seem unattainable to some, but it's really all about priorities.
Maybe, but I don't like her tone (what I've heard of it anyway). Will Lee and Walter Becker on the other hand...To me ... maybe I’m wrong ... Wilkenfeld is sinonymous of modern jazz bass sound which Sadowsky is an eminent exponent of .. ergo ... (IMO, IMO and only IMO)

may put this under “bassists” but, aside from the bass player who’s really good, I’d like to focus on the bass tone..
Here we have a MIJ Fender sounding like a Sadowsky IMO (please don’t come up with the usual “the sound is in the fingers” sort of comments of stuff like that) or not?
Tal Wilkenfedish sound?
What do you think?

I snoozed on one in the classifieds last year. It was only like 1400 bucks or something. I probably would have been 17th in line thoughRight. And I've seen used Metros at even better prices. A few that I'm kicking myself for passing up.
