Looking forward to the anniversary of my death :-)
If so, did you hear about this?

'--A group called Beings Beings has raised over $1,600 to distribute 10,000 harmonicas at Zuccotti Park today. From the project's Kickstarter page: "What we're suggesting is to equip the entire movement with harmonicas. By breathing slowly through these harmonicas, the historic instrument of the underclass in America, the audible qualities of both the individual and the whole will become a call used for marches, demonstrations, and sit-ins. As thousands of people step together and breathe together, the sound that we emit will be impossible to ignore or argue, because it lacks words that can be skewed or manipulated."'

@dsanders - OWS is happening because working people like yourself need more free time and money for their kids. We're all in the same boat.

As far as being unproductive... The banks are blinking. B of A backed off their $5 debit card fee.

!Viva 99%!

Well said. I'm glad about B of A, and don't think that OWS didn't help that! That debit card fee was one of those "last gasp of a dying corporation" policies. Super batty.

Why is it that someone who needs to support a family even has time to be doing this?

As for occupy Nashville (where I live) you would be hard pressed to find anyone who can actually tell you what they believe and why they are there.

Now we are hearing reports from all sides of the media that these "protestors" are being treated for STD's because they are getting high and fooling around. Doesn't sound very diligent to me.

Go find me a concerned parent, then come back to the discussion. That same person also needs to be able to intelligently explain what they believe and what the end goal of their "movement" is.

Your comment that it's for people like me to have more time with their families doesn't make sense. I have a great career, and plenty of time for my family. If I lost my job I would go work for someone else and wouldn't have a problem finding one. Self motivated, driven, creative people who work hard and take responsibility for themselves are rare nowadays. OWS is a prime example of that. I am one o those people who take personal responsibility seriously. Employment will never be an issue for me because I work hard, with excellence. Perhaps if these protestors were the same they would be making money instead of complaining about "the banks".

The interesting part to me is that as a group they can't seem to agree on what exactly they are trying to accomplish.

People who have been laid off and cannot find work are making time to demonstrate against the Bankers all over the world.

Where did you hear about the STD treatment? Fox News? Have a link?

'Perhaps if these protestors (sic) were the same they would be making money instead of complaining about "the banks".' Oy vey. There are no jobs mijo. Ever heard of Budget Cuts? Hard, excellent workers are being laid off left and right through no fault of their own. Need links?

Congratulations on being so employable. But for those of us who are out of work
the only companies hiring now are Walmart and McDonalds. Jobs in our Service Economy do not pay a living wage. You cannot deny that the 1% is robbing the rest of us blind. Now, instead of paying taxes, they want to cut Social Security and Medicare. This is warfare.

And JimmyM, damn straight OWS got BofA to drop the $5 fee. Those fleeing customers didn't move to other banks they moved to Credit Unions.

You want goals?

Perhaps if we were a better informed populace we wouldn't have let these greedy bastards steal our Democracy out from under us? dsanders, do your kids and the rest of us a favor and read the attached article.

'The lesson is clear: Democracy doesn’t begin at the top; it begins at the bottom, when flesh-and-blood human beings fight to rekindle what Arlo Guthrie calls “The Patriot’s Dream.”'
