Do you really like Moog?

Ive never noticed other bypassed pedals in my chain having any effect on my 'foogers. The bypass sucks, though none of the 'foogers bypasses suck tone as bad a Bass Macro Synth for instance. They are definitely noise prone, especially when activated and in a less than ideal power situation (ie a house thats short on power).

I keep them in loops, and I think they're great. When you get a few and a bunch of patch cables and a controller and let them start talking to each other is when they really begin to open up and become worth the investment. Dual phasing, envelope phasing, wave-of-choice phasing and filtering, etc. As RC mentioned the ringmod is super fat and sounds great. The squarewave lfo does pop in most tremolo settings, so lowpass it and wala, super fat squarewave tremolo with no popping. Overdrive any of the 'foogers for some dirt (they all sounds a little different) to wake up the filter or phaser, or just for an overdriven sound. Feed lfo's into the carrier in of the ringmod for tap tempo tremolo (just thought of this one and tried it right now, cha ching), expression tremolo, ramp/saw/square etc trem. Just a few examples that I've figured out in the last couple months that I've had them, great fun. Some of them aren't exactly 'effects' in the sense that you'll likely be underwhelmed with a freqbox or a ring mod by itself, but as pieces of the puzzle they are indespensible. You really have full control over these pedals, so with the knowhow and controllers (i need a cp251 at some point) you can pretty much do everything with these particular effects, that you could think of-- a set of foogers can replicate (by function, tone will be a little different) the functions of many the analog filters/phasers/tremolo's/etc on the market. Some of them also generate their own tone, making them instruments unto themselves..

They could be better, but they're pretty damn good as they are. If you just need a phaser for one song, and an envelope filter for another one, and you want to try a tremolo out, etc- then you should probably look elsewhere for something smaller with a good bypass and easy power requirements.
