It can't be any worse than the name of my band; Plook you can listen to us at: [This invalid link has been removed]
"Plook" is good. Simple one-syllable and distinctive enough to make it easy to remember.
Is it pronounced like "look" as in look over there; or more like "luke" as in Plook Skywalker? Or... ?
Does it have a connotation in the Urban Dictionary that I'm unawares of? ie What does "Plook" mean, if anything?
Check out Joe's Garage by Frank Zappa for the answer. It's a euphemism for ****.

Jump the Precipice!
Yeah, ya gotta do the google search. My band renamed ourselves a couple of years ago (shameless plug: Starcar Sunday) and I vowed never to make fun of a band name ever again, cuz ALLL the good/obvious ones have been taken!!

I would avoid band names which can be easily mispronounced or misspelled. "Precipice" meets both criteria.
Precipice. I like it.
I wanted to call my new band 'Pale Rider' but the rest of the lads shot it down. Maybe if I threaten them?

Sheer Drop is better.
It is basically what Precipice means, but more clear.
How about Situation of Grave Peril?

Think of how many great bands have names that are actually pretty lame...
