Do you think this is a good band name?

And it also sounds cool to these guys. https://www.facebook.com/PrecipiceMetal. Gotta do the google search when you come up with great new band names:D. Sorry I posted so fast dude.
Metal-archives.com is another good site to look up band names. They have a lot of info on obscure metal bands. There are usually a dozen other bands who have already used the name you are considering. :banghead:

As for the name Precipice, you could just add "On The" to it.

Since the basic name's taken, modifying it seems a good way to go. What sort of metal are you playing?

After dropping the "Dark", I like "Precipice of Death". Or "Precipice of Darkness"

"Mortal Precipice"

"Beyond the Precipice"

Not so serious suggestions...

"Pagan Precipice" (or just PP for short)

"Crag of Doom"

"Escarpment of Darkness"

Gotta say... "Lion's Pride" sounds like a sequel to "The Lion King" or a Wiggles knockoff.

Unless you come up with a really weird name or do the pop-punk thing and attach a random number to it, almost any band name will turn out to have been used by someone somewhere already. The question is whether your anticipated market and theirs overlap. If the other "Precipice" is playing around Seattle and yours is in North Carolina, and both groups are only playing locally, it's usually no big deal.

We play progressive and thrash mostly. Some alternative. I like your
suggestion Beyond the Precipice. Thanks for your help!

Precipice is good. If someone else has the name already, adding a word like; Xtal, Obsidian, Immortal, Cryptic, Pyroclastic, Alien, Vogon, Void, Iron, Steel, Le@d, Rubber-room, Acid, Legion, Driven, Nightmare, Fugue, etc. might get you over the line and help set the band apart.:bassist: An illuminating adjective can do wonders.

Very "edgy"!
