I got a DOD fx25b second hand, and it has a problem. When its on, it works fine and sounds great, but when I turn it off, the signal from my bass just disappears, and slowly goes back to its orignal volume after about 30 seconds. I power it with a 9v DC power supply, so its not the battery, has anybody got any idea whats wrong with it, and if it will be able to be fixed?

The bypass switch internal device is a flimsy thing, not durable. And when dirt gets in, it will act badly. First thing to do is take the switch apart and spray some good contact cleaner into it, and then click the switch a bunch of times to break up the grime.
If cleaning doesn't work, then the switch may need replacing. I'm not 100% positive it's the culprit, but odds are good.

thanks for the reply, I'm a bit of a newbie with all the technical stuff, is the bypass switch internal device on the circuit board? or is it the other side? I've taken the back off and exposed the board, and cant seem to get to the other side of it.

The switch PCB is located at the bottom of the enclosure close to where you actually press the button on top. You have to pull off the knobs, remove the nuts and washers associated with them and most likely remove the nuts and washers on the jacks to remove the main board and get to the switch PCB below it.
