DOD to reissue Meat Box?

Pretty sure if it is going to be re-released, it will come from Digitech. DOD has been dead for years, iirc. I have an iStomp, which has about 30 downloadable pedals, some are spot on for the old DOD line - FX25 envelope filter, Grunge, 250 OD, Death Metal, Gonkulator. Maybe the Meat Box will also come out as one of their new virtual pedals.

If the Meatbox is ever updated it will be from DOD, I'll make sure of it.

If it is re-issued I wonder how that will effect the forum here and sleazeBay. Will prices of the old ones plummet - or will they go through the roof while people claim the vintage units sound better? :eyebrow:

That's what we're wondering about with the new Bass Whammy — should be a good indicator of what the market will do.

While its a cool pedal, for me it lost most of its appeal when i figured out i can get a similar vibe with a whammy. You can put the whammy on one octave down, leave the expression pedal alone and just hit the foot-switch. Its not dead on but its close. i would say the whammy IV tracks about the same as most of the meat box videos I've seen. I haven't got my hands on the new bass whammy yet but I'm guessing it tracks better than the meat box and the whammy IV. With the whammy IV there is a little bit of a volume drop but you can get it back by putting a whammy IV in a loop of a boss ls2

The Meatbox doesn't track anything, it's like a glorified EQ. At least that's my understanding. I have never heard a Meatbox "glitch" ever.

You guys could get a EHX Mole and probably get the same results as a Meatbox, for about 40 dollars.

I have a Mole and can certify that there is absolutely NO truth to this :)

The Mole is a low pass filter with a boost. It is kind of like a super easy to use EQ with a bit more boost than you average 40$ EQ.

However, it is NOTHING like a Meatbox or other such pedals.

Look up pedals and effects video "sub wars" the meatbox to me is basically an octave down pitch pedal it's not just an eq. It's like an really good octave down pedal without the dry note. For me the whammy has a lot of the same kinda vibe on the one octave down setting. If they reissue them and they are cheap ill definetly jump on it. Right now I'm thinking $99 and down ill buy just to not have to change my whammy settings as the one octave down setting is one of my favorite whammy settings. But the originals go pretty high used and if they want like $200 bucks for it I'd probably just use two whammy pedals.
