Doerfler mini bass bow on Reverb

I don't know anything about this, but I am genuinely interested. When does one use a mini bow?

 

I've had the notion to shorten and mend a bow I broke years ago (threw it on the driver's seat loading up after a gig, got in the car without looking and crack...). I don't play in a pit usually but I was thinking a short bow would be sweet for really fast staccato stuff, fiddle tunes. Maybe not that short, though.. Could fit that one in your shirt pocket for convenience.

 

This is obviously for when playing a tiny violin does not do your friend's sob story justice.

 

You really gotta have your son filé together to use that puppy.
