Does Anybody Else Feel Depressed Between Gigs?

After a couple of days downtime, I just feel that way. Practicing helps, but I'd really rather be playing with a group. It could be a live performace or rehearsal; that doesn't matter. I'd like to be a lot busier musically than I am. I'd love to be playing 6 days a week. It's hard to find bands that are willing to rehearse as much as I'd like, & week-long back-go-back gigs don't come around very often.

know where you comin from...
if you feel very depressed, start lookin online for people to practise with. I spent most of my nights that way, todays anti-depressant of choice:

play all 459 possible basslines... if that doesn't help, then I dont know :-)
Hey, heads up, there is TB! :bassist:

Balance in life is important; learn to pace yourself and enjoy a variety of interests. In the long run you'll be better off for it, and you won't tend to feel depressed when you're not doing your favorite thing.

Right. What I try to do is (conceptually) separate my life into categories: Work, love life, hobbies, music, & school if I happen to be attending currently. I figure that there's usually a pretty good chance that things will be going well in at least one of those areas!

Music seems to be a constant roller coaster of emtional highs & lows. Actually, that's not a complaint - I think it's fun that way! I try to put a lot into each show, & when it's over I'm sad. Gotta' get cracking on the next one, that's all there is to it!

This looks like a cool site, looking forward to checking it out tonight.

You can always check to see if there are any weeknight jam sessions at local clubs where you can sit in for a few tunes and get to play and meet with musicians who you normally would not interact with them.
