Does anybody own a Moon bass?

I traded my JB5 to gimeagig from tb, maybe he will post some pics. The guy I bought it from was on tour with a version of Menudo. He lived in Miami and I think I paid 1200 for it. I also owned an older jb5 with the slanted front p/u. It was beat, heavy, and had an ebony board. They used to come up on bassgear once and awhile but I haven't seen one in ages.

I owned a moon 5 string for about ten years until 2 yrs ago when I let it go in a trade. My moon was a early version of the Climb model with Bartolini soapbars and very narrow spacing(which is why I got rid of it).I originally was owned by Chicago bassist chuck webb then bassist Marcus Robenson then me.Richard Patterson (miles Davis/david sandborn/boz scaggs)who is another Chicago based guy has a couple of the jazz style ones as well as Chicago bassist Ron Hall(must be a Chicago thing)The one I had didn't do it for me but I hung on to it for a long time because it gave me another tonal option,I ended up putting another battery to run at 18 volts which helped me with head room. The jazz style one are nice but rare to find in the states.

Here's my Moon's!!!a 4 with Moon eq,and a 5 with Barts and bart eq,both are great basses!

I have an older Moon of unknown type with Kent Armstrong pups and a Bartolini XTCT pre. It has a very warm and punchy sound and plays great, probably the best JB I've had to date (haven't owned any boutique jazzes, though, only Fender and Bacchus models).

P.S. The Ishibashi ad for that white Larry Graham model states that there's something wrong with the neck (warping) and they don't guarantee it, so I'd be careful with it.

I met a guy that played at my cousins wedding and he had one of the nicest basses I had ever seen. I talked to him about it and he said it was a Moon, and that he got it in Japan. Apparently he went to the factory and and got it directly from there. I think he said that they weren't available in the US at all anymore. I was wondering if anyone has one and how they got it? I found the Moon website but it's all in Japanese, which i unfortunately can't speak, read, or understand hahaha.

Funny Story: The guy I met who owned the bass said that he has been married and divorced twice, and he bought that bass before his first marriage. He's had it for over 14 years!

Wow, funny, I had never heard of these until yesterday, I was checking used instruments on a web site of a shop in Toronto and they show one. Dimarzio pick ups and a Sadowsky pre. J-style, white/maple. Looks pretty good. Not sure where it was made. You can check it out at Invalid Link Removed

they go for nothing

It looks like they range from about $950 - $1125 but those all appear to be used plus it would probably be around $150 to ship from Japan and none of those basses look as nice as the one's mentioned in this thread IMO. Since these basses are made in Japan, I'm sure you could find more of them at better prices in Japan but they're still pretty rare here.
I did see a Moon Bass that was a 62 jazz copy in Lake Placid Blue from a dealer on Ebay a couple of years ago that was going for $599 plus $150 shipping. The seller had great ratings and the bass was brand new, I was very close to getting it but was a little hesitant having never played one.

Funny I just saw this post. Yes I still have my Moon bass. It's a JB-5 from 1998. I have Nordies in it now and a OBP1
