Does Anyone Else Hate the TSA Approved Fender Bass Cases?

I have not seen those ones yet, mine is the older style.
They are a bit smaller and rounder than mine, if it is made out of the same material, though it feels cheap it is very durable. As posted in post number 17 mine is 8+ years old opened a few times a week, after removing the bass with it still on the floor I lock all four of the locks with my foot then pick it up by grabbing the lock surround at the headstock location to place it vertically against a wall.
It is not treated gentle nor abused, it is used and it still functions and looks great.
Also SKB have great customer service if it does brake, you will be taken care of.
What??? I have the same case and sorry, but I really don't get your gripe. The latches are robust and trustworthy - there's nothing "plastic" about the actual closure parts. A zillion years ago I had a new Les Paul Custom black beauty with their premium plastic case, which was truly garbage - the latches were actually plastic and would stress-break after a year or so.
This is a great case which I'd use all the time...except I only play local these days, and the ol' gig bag is much more convenient. All is moot, since I'll be selling it with the American Elite P that it came in soon.
