Does anyone else name inanimate objects?

closing in on a year with no cable and going on 4 years with no at home internet access.

By 'cable' do you mean no over the air tv access? I think Parks & Rec is on NBC.

I have a bumble bee that lives under my front porch, I named him Buzzy.

When I see him I greet him with "hey buzzman ! whats happnin ? "

But a bumble bee is not inanimate.

Named a bong once, though the name itself escapes me, probably due to the bong.

I had a bong that a friend named 'Happy'.
I stuck a piece of tape to it that says 'Ideas', but I stole that from the Sarah Silverman Program.

My current 'working' bass is totally black, tuning machines, pickup, body, bridge....I call it 'Midnight'....

My 'retired' (and first) bass was hand assembled for me by a friend who owns a music store back in da 'burgh...it has a beautiful tobacco-brown body, and a maple neck/FB...its name is 'Brownie'...

I used to have a bass which I'd bought at a clearance sale after the music store which had it had suffered a fire. Every time I opened the case, the bass gave off an odor like a smoked ham...the smoke had penetrated into it (mostly into the unfinished rosewood fingerboard) while it was hanging in the store, although luckily it had been left undamaged.
Naturally, I named it 'Smokey'.

My wife named our Mitsu 4X4 pickup 'Herbie' (after seeing the movie)...she calls her new Honda City 'Lilly'

My buddies and I name all of our pieces. They tend to come and go frequently so there have been many creative ones. As of late, the names have tended to be "playfully racist", because someone noticed that we have never had a non-caucasian in our "social" circle. Not because we don't like them, but actually because we don't know any!

I named my first bass and one of my cars. Can't really get the names to stick. I have a friend that names all of her cars, and all the names are really clever. I hate her.

We had a room in a house that we called Fred because it's a room that doesn't really serve any function. My extended family now calls all rooms like that Fred.

My housemate and I happen to own the same model car, and both are the same colour. My license plate numbers are 007 (not personalized, just normal plates). We sometimes use each other's cars for various reasons, so my car is always referred to as "007". Of course you can imagine the obvious droll jokes that accompany the name. She insists that whenever she drives it, there's always an big black Mercedes or Audi following her.

I have a big ceramic turtle/piggy bank that I named Steven. Steven holds all of my spare change (easily over $100 by now) with a little Buddha statue between his front legs.

At work we all call our micrometers "mike". Clever, I know ;)
