I have Yamaha BB1000s neck through with original hard case. I'm interested in knowing more about it. I haven't been able to find much online about it with it's serial number.( the color isn't as orangey in the pic...i couldn't get my camera w/o a filter to work)

Does anyone know anything about a Yamaha BB1000s?

That actually is pretty helpful. I guess I can't find out how old it is because the serial number doesn't fall into the available sequences provided online. And with it having 5knobs..ive not seen any others have that ..I was wondering if that hurts the value. I'm thinking of selling it.

I just found this thread! I just bought this exact bass off Reverb just last week. Plays great. What I thought was very interesting is that I have another (unmodified) BB1000S that has an ebony fretboard, but this BB1000S has rosewood. I also found the red finish to be a deeper maroon that more closely matches my BB1200S than my BB1000S.
Some additional info on this bass:
The extra 3 knobs are there because it's modded with an LC87452 preamp - the same preamp as found in the BB1200S and BB2000S.
It sounds identical to my BB1200S and the additional rail pickup (which I assume is probably from a gutted BB2000S) really adds some versatility.
