Some 60s or early 70s cheapo bass.
From the looks of the split pickguard I'd say it's a Teisco.

These turn up with lots of different brands on the headstock. I mostly see them branded as an Aria A100, but I've seen plenty of other brands like Cleartone as well. I don't think anybody really knows with any certainty which factory they originated from.

Without a brand on the headstock there's no way of knowing what it was originally sold as, but it most likely comes from the same factory as all the others.

I always think of Teisco's Montgomery Ward's and Sears guitars and basses of the 1970s as being the Kings of Pickguards.
The materials were different and they often added a completely useless one or 2 just for looks.

Quite possibly, but is there any real proof of that?

The interesting thing that stands out on that bass is the 6 bolt neck, which brings Moridaira into the equation, though it's more than likely other factories at the time used a 6 bolt neck on at least a few models.
