I have a friend that bought this pre-owned bass back in the late eighties. The salesman told my friend that the bass was called a Hayek and was built by a former employee who worked at Alembic. My friend doesn't have a computer so I've been trying to find some info for him. The bass is very well made and plays nice but he has a pickup that isn't working. I told him he would probably never find a replacement pickup for this bass but he asked me to check it out for him. The pickups are active and sealed and takes four 9 volt batteries! The output has two jacks. One output is a 1/4 jack and the other is a round 7 pin jack. The cord from the 7 pin jack goes into a transformer box that converts to a 1/4 jack that goes to the amp. He would like to get this fixed or convert to some other brand pickups. The pickup routes are 3 3/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. If anyone has any info on this bass or ideas please let me know. Thanks in advance.
