Does anyone make a 5 string BEATLE bass?

Why not just use your recently acquired Squier Jazz?

Thanks for all the great points and info. You guys are the best. I forgot the original is a short scale. The reason I was wondering about the violin bass was purely for aesthetics. I like having a low B for ease of playing some of those McCartney bass lines without having to move my left hand. I do alot of singing, and not having to move alot helps.

That Ibby looks nice, but again misses the mark, and the Low B might be an issue. I was hoping to find a 34" scale.

ask someone with a 30" shortscale 5 string bass to try them?
I could never take a Beatles band that the bassist uses a 5-string. Just isn't correct.
As the man said, it's not a "Beatle Band," it's a 60's & 70's review band that does a lot of Beatles' songs.

The picture of the bass with the single pickup at the bridge won't cut it for the tone. Gotta have the pickup up on the neck to get the tone. It's the placement of the pickup more than whatever kind of bass or kind of pickup or kind of strings to get that hollow, deep tone.
