Does anyone play both precision and jazz basses?

I'm a little late to the party here but it's Jazz all the way for me these days. I can get a real groove going on my current J-bass(64 AVRI). More-so than I could on My Ric or P-Basses. The sound and feel go hand in hand and once you find the sweet spot then you can really get your groove on. Something as simple as different strings can improve or even ruin the feel/sound combo. Once you find your perfect bass/string/amp setup, you'll know it and it will be hard to sway from that combo. All that being said.....I am still jonesing to get a Ric back in the stable.

I didn't read all 5 pages of replies, but I play both a J and a P-Bass. I've got them set up for slightly different things. The P has flatwounds and is geared more for the blues and motown type sound. The J bass has much brighter sounding roundwound strings on it, better for more modern music.

The OP mentions ease of playing...I like the narrower width at the nut on the Jazz neck and actually put a Jazz type neck on the P bass. The wider nut on the P is definitely a little more of a work out when playing down in those first three frets. How is the action on both basses? That might also be contributing to one being more difficult to play than the other. In the end, they're both basses, it doesn't matter which one you play more of, you'll get better the more you do it. :)
