Does multi-scale even make sense for a 4-string player?

Soundwise I believe the shorter scale on the G string especially will have a bit more fundamental. A lot of the time I feel like my G sounds a bit thin compared to the other strings on a "normal" bass.

That about sums it up for me too. When I end up getting a Dingwall it will be a four stringer and it will be for the greater tension on the E and lower tension on the G. I actually don't need the B string, got one of those on my guitar.

I suppose Ibanez have answered this question for me, LOL!
They do have a 4-string multi-scale Soundgear, but when they came out with their new headless design they make all the 4-string models mono-scale!
