Does Olive Oil work?

Hydrogen Peroxide is all you need. My sons ear was impacted and I watched his ENT use plain hyrogen peroxide and some suction and cleared his ears good as new. He has an excessive cerumen condition and I use peroxide and flush with warm water which was how I was told to treat him once a week since the visit to the ENT.

Update from my RN/musician buddy: the short answer is to see a doctor. As mentioned, you aren't 100% sure what the problem is, so you can't be 100% sure you're using the correct remedy.

He can do a lot at home with scalpels, syringes, lidocaine, and a number of other things you might go to the doctor for, and even he said he wouldn't try the olive oil thing on someone. There's just so much delicate stuff in there, and a lot of the damage that you could cause could be irreversible.

Seriously.. there are all kinds of over the counter ear cleaning kits but you may have the wax really impacted.. that has happened to me before and I went to the doctor and they dug the wax out.. I'd suck it up and pay the copay just to be safe and sure there is no infection or something like that..
