Does this bass exist?

have you had a look at schecter, may not be exactly what you'd expect, but I was having a similar dilema. I was looking for ages for a 24 fret, neck-thru MM or similar stlye pup, active EQ, 5 stringer at a reasonable price. Came across a Schecter Stilhetto Elite 5 string, which has pretty much suited all my needs. I'm mainly a jazzer/funk player and didn't really think of it in terms of sound when I started looking, but it suits my playing and compliments my amp so I've been really pleased with it. I know there have been mixed reviews of schecters on TB so might not be exactly what you want, something like that or a Spector or something, even a lower end Status would be really good I'll bet.

+1 on the Cort GB75. And it's got Hipshot hardware, to boot! :hyper: I've found that as long as you have good "bones" in an instrument (body, neck, tight neck joint, construction, etc.), the rest can be modded out, if need be. With the Cort, you have that, plus nice hardware (did I mention Hipshot?) and decent enough pickups & electronics. I don't own one personally, but played one - not bad at all!
Good luck in your search! Keep us posted on your findings!
