Does this Fender serial number look legit?

I was having a look on Facebook Marketplace and came across this 2011 Fender American Standard Precision bass. I looked up the serial number but it doesn't check out on the Fender site? From what I can see, the serial is 10033110, but according to Fender records, I think it should have a US prefix before the numbers? The bass has been modified with a John East pre-amp and Lace Bass-Bar pickups, so it's not stock switches etc.

Doesn't compute on my (very) reliable serial number checker;

Built in: Korea
Year: 1997-1998 (see Fender catalog)

US Serial Number 2010-2024

At the end of 2009, a new 9-digit Fender serial number format was introduced.
This format is prefixed with the number "10" (which stands for the second decade of 2000) followed by 7 numerals.

In March 2010, this format was replaced by a new 8-digit format. The two-letter prefix indicates the production location.
The first 2 digits after the letters represent the production year. The remaining digits are random and do not provide additional information.

My 2010 Precision V has a similar serial starting with 10. Candy Apple Red was a stock color for the AM ST at that time along with sunburst, Olympic white and black. I was specifically looking at that time for a new Precision V.
There appears to be some work done on that one w/the extra knobs & switch.

Does it have a squared heel & 4-bolt neck?

Removing the PG should have typical channel routes and the small CNC hole. That is, unless those extra knobs & switch needed some space.

Looks like a modified USA 2010 Precision V to me. Others may spot something I'm not seeing.

Interesting.. I dont remember exactly what models/years, but I have encountered messed up/confusing fender serials several times.
Could it have something to do with the relative rarity of fender 5'ers perhaps?

There is nothing that really makes this look fake to me, allthough I'm not an EXPERT. The fact that its been modded could be both a sign that its a fake AND that its real, depending on how you feel about the upgrade in question.

Idk man, I'd check it out in person. Look at standard quality stuff like fret work, weight, fit of the various parts etc.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would go through the trouble of faking such a relatively "inexpensive" instrument, but maybe I'm just naive.

That's exactly what I thought? I'm sure there should be a US at the start of the serial number if it is a 2011 model?

Yes, it has a John East preamp and Lace Bass bar pick ups fitted

2010 Precision V for reference. I bought my Precision V from GC in Southfield, MI new in late 2010. I had to order it so it took a week or so to show up at the GC after my order. I changed the PG, added a B string tree, and that's a 2nd case. the first one started breaking after about 300 gigs over 4 years and being tossed about in the gear trailer. I still have original receipt, PG, case and case candy. FWIW.

NOTE: the prefix '10' is a difference type face than the serial number. Similar to yours. Despite the mods, it looks legit USA P-Bass to me.

The prefix '10' on your subject bass there would mean it's also a 2010. The owner may have taken possession in 2011 or ordered it then but the starting '10' means 2010 as far as the date of build.

Thanks for the info 👍

Yesterday I bought this second hand American Standard 2010 Jazz Bass from my local music dealer (who is an authorized Fender dealer by the way) here in Sweden. He claims that it is legit, but I am a bit concerned now that Im checking out the serial number. My bass also has the 8 digit number without the "US" in front. What do you guys think about it?
