The listing says it has a nato neck. That seems like it would be very prone to warping, twisting, or other stability issues.

Its a type of wood. Used often in cheaper basses for bodies, but I doubt it would be rigid enough to keep a stable neck.

I've played a couple of Arbor basses and I wasn't impressed, even for $150. The final fit and finish was below usual $150 Chinese bass standards.

I hate to sound like another SX fanboy, you'd probably be better off getting an SX.

+1 to the SX

If you can save up a biiit more, a Sterling by Music Man 'Ray is still a great instrument.

Also, an Ibanez ATK is a great 'other than' Stingray option.

+1 SX Not a fanboy either but there's just too many threads touting the value, sound and quality of the SX basses to consider buying some unknown, untried instrument. But to each his own.

I haven't tried the SX's but I've had nothing but good luck with rondomusic.com and their other brands. My Douglas fretless 6 string I got from them is a great instrument, and amazing at $185! I might just go get a second fretted one too. I've heard good things about the SX line, the prices are certianly right and their return policy is excellent. I'd go with them.

Kind of reminds me of my $99 Vinci bass from Sears. Stay away from that. Go SX or Squier. Better yet find something used on Craigslist or Guitar Center's used section. Check area pawn shops and mom n pop music stores. I highly doubt I'd ever buy a brand new guitar/amp again.

I got a Laguna LB224 I will let go for $150 to you if your in the 48. its alot better than any of these you are showing and still has the humbucker sound you seem to be looking for but alot sweeter neck and body. other than that SX would be the way to go for the price.

Its a slightly higher price than the mystery bass on eBay but it might be worth checking out.
Same look as the one you're eyeballing but OLP's have a decent reputation.

Why on God's Green Earth would you buy a no-name p.o.s. like that when you can pick up something like this for pretty much the same price????

I looked at an Arbor at a local store (a Piano store w/ a couple basses behind the counter).

Add me to the list of "unimpressed".
I bought an SX instead, add me to the list of people suggesting that route.

I wouldn't spend anything more than 50 bucks on that bass. Well, 20 actually so I could get a prop bass, but the extra thirty would be just to see why there are two volume knobs in a single pickup bass. Two separate single coils in one cover?
