I'm just curious. Why do we use our main hand for picking and the secondary one for fretting? Picking, plucking and even slapping seem to be relatively simple kinds of motion in comparison to fretting that is way more complicated and requires much more stretch, strength, attention and sometimes even visual control. But all the right-handed players still pick with their main (right) hand and fret with secondary (left) one. Most of left-handed players also feel more comfortable when picking with their main (left) hand and look for lefty instruments.
The question is: why does it work this way? Why do we feel more comfortable doing harder job with the weaker hand? What are your ideas about it?
