You may or may not be aware that Don Coffman has passed. My current teacher Professor Donald Wilner, Steve Bailey and many, many other notable players benefitted from his guidance and tutelage. I was at his wake, and finally decided to share this with TB. If you look into his history, many illustrious players were at his coattails. I am sharing this because I just told Rufus Reid about Don's passing and he said:
"Yes, I knew Don Coffman. I had not seen him for many years. He was a good player.."
I was also reading something here from a former student of Don's and so, I'm more than likely overstepping my bounds and posting this. I hope those who care and/or knew Don will be reflective and ambient in their positivity.
