Done with Music123 and MF for real

I'm done with these clowns after years of buying all kinds of gear that they can see when they look in my account they don't care. I went to order a Markbass New York 121 cab. They had a markbass $50 off rebate that ended yesterday and wouldn't help me cause I called a day to late, well ok that's cool because they have on there web $50 off on any $500 purchase so I figure I'll get that but no they tell me Markbass is not included in the $50 off. They're worse than a used car dealer I'm done with them!

You're mad at them because you missed the sale and didn't read the fine print on a coupon? Sound's like you are the one who screwed up, not them.

While I understand your frustration and have no problem with your decision... I always find it a little odd when people think exceptions should be made for them. What's the next step if you're two days late? A week?

My mother used to often say, "You're cutting your nose off to spite your face."

I've gotten some pretty awesome deals from them 2 websites (which are both the same store).

All you probably would have had to do to get the $50 off was say, "OK. No thanks then", and called back to get a different sales person. Or wait until the next sale, or order from Sam Ash who's giving $60 off today. Getting mad and swearing them off when in actuality they did nothing wrong would really be cutting your nose off to spite your face. I don't believe you're swearing them off anyway. :) I just think yer mad.

Yea I'm not understanding the problem. Order on time. You may have spent a lot of money there, but hey, you have the option of about 100 other online stores. That's what they're there for. I don't see how that entitles you to have rules bent. I order from them all the time, and if they said I called a day late, I'd say ok, my bad.

You missed the deadline, how is that their fault? As for the $50 Off not being valid on the Markbass, some manufacturers have strict guidelines on pricing so unless they offer a rebate, MF or another retailer can't include them in a "$XX Off" deal. For example, I've bought a lot of stuff lately from Cascio Interstate Music - Best Selection Of Music Gear - Guaranteed Low Price because they seem to have 10%+ offers weekly and their service is great. I was interested in purchasing a Fender American Standard P, and they were having a 13% off deal for a few days. When I tried to redeem the coupon after I added it to my cart, it wouldn't go through and I found out that due to Fender's (and other brands) pricing requirements, Fender was not eligible.

While it was annoying, it wasn't IM's fault, it was Fender's policy.

often times a phone call and respectful dialogue can get web coupons applied to "excluded" items. Doing everything electronically sometimes limits your (and their) options.

Whiny rants usually don't get much sympathy or discount...

Did you read my entire post? What exception? today's deal is $50 off on a $500 purchase but not for markbass they told me.

I have had one bad dealing with them but they gave me a better, more expensive item to make up for it. I just had to wait 5 weeks.

I work in services and I will say that you get more when you are cool. Calling in and telling me I need to honor something is the wrong way to go about it. Atleast have a good excuse when you do call.

Just wait for the next sale.

Cool story, bro. Next time tell the one where they didn't offer a discount for anything at all.

Seriously, what's the problem here?

So let me understand, if I have a store with a sign that says spend $500 and get $50 off and you bring a $500 item up to me and i say sorry that item is exempt you feel that's cool and wouldn't be put off.
