done with steak from restaurants

I'm done with pig roasts now, as well.
The ones I've been to this Summer were disappointing. The worst was where they burned the pig & then chopped up the burnt skin in with the meat. Every bite was crunchy :wideyed:
Just left one where the pork has zero taste beyond just plain pork. The vinegary sauce didn't help much.

TBH I was spoiled by Thai pig roasts, they're putting seasoning on the pig throughout & stuff the body with herbs & spices, it's really good!

Sometimes in a restaurant I feel like ordering something I would never make for myself, other times I wants something familiar. So depends on my mood.
But there is a restaurant just around the corner that makes excellent steak sandwiches--the way they cook all steaks so tender--no matter how you order it anything from blue rare to well done--they are still juicy & tasty, etc (I haven't sampled all of those, but from people I ate there with or who have been there otherwise)
So I am not done with their steaks.
They cook them better than I can.

At least I've kept my word so far, haven't been to any steak restaurants (real for fake) since, & have no plans to do so.

This is $11.99 at my favorite Mexican spot. Lots of steak and incredibly delicious, shrimps, fajita vegetables underneath, and salad

Seems like a fair deal for $12.
I should probably order the fajitas at the local Hispanic restaurant & just leave the tortillas.

The best steak houses cook steaks on a high temperature grill and then use a finishing oven.

That seems like something to do for a rare or medium-rare steak.
TBH I haven't bothered cooking a steak at home, because I always end up making Thai Nahm dToke with it (meat salad):

Complaining aboot the quality of steaks at Texas Roadhouse is like complaining aboot fishsticks at Dollar Tree.

Thanks for reminding me of this thread, where so many "went for" the Texas Roadhouse aspect of the post. (some quite aggressively I might add)
I'm not about to drive 100 miles to a "real" steak restaurant & pay "real" prices to still be disappointed.

Was the "aboot" a Canadian spin?

If I want steak, I'll get it in a carne asada burrito.
